    Upon reaching early or normal retirement a firefighter plan member may complete a Pre-retirement Benefit Selection Form.  As of 9/30/2009 Early Retirement:  Upon reaching age 45 with 20 years of credited service in the pension plan; or age 50 with 10 years of credited service in the pension plan.  As of 9/30/2009 Normal Retirement:  Upon reaching age 55; 25 years of credited service (at 85%) in the pension plan; 28 years of credited service in the pension plan; or age 52 and 25 years of credited service in the pension plan.

 
Planning on retiring or entering the DROP?

If you plan to retire and/or enter the drop you must make an appointment with your pension office no later than 90 days prior to your anticipated retirement date. This is to insure your information to meet that date is timely and correct. The office number is (321) 724-8877.
